Abstract
This poetry collection by Zahid Bheel encompasses many important themes. Since a poet is a sensitive individual, he observes his surroundings with great attention to detail, and whatever flaws or wrongs he witnesses, he presents them before the people in the form of poetry. Zahid Bheel, who belongs to a family that considers serving locality a virtue, has therefore taken it upon himself to serve the people through literature. In this collection, he has contributed to Punjabi literature by writing ghazals and poems on a variety of themes such as the blessings of truth, criticism of deceitful and dishonest leaders, the law of the jungle, the honor of women, the voice of the poor, becoming a firefly to spread light for others, suppressing the ego, love for the land of Punjab and tribute to its heroes, the shaping of character, moral values, the transience of the world, staying hopeful, the insensitivity of loved ones, selfishness, the suffering of humanity, and the status of a mother. This article critically examines Zahid Bheel’s poetry collection and brings forth all the themes contained within it.
